Music Education Ezine

Hi,

Welcome to the newly re-designed Music Education Ezine from the Fun Music Company. In this Ezine we hope to provide you with a quick summary of the latest articles, resources and information available at our websites and blogs.

As Parents and Music Educators we know the benefits that playing in band and ensemble can have on children of all ages. Children not only learn important playing and team building skills, but their self confidence and social skills can really help them in all areas of their schooling. The children who play in band at school are often referred to as the "smartest Kids" in the school and brain researcher, Dr Gordon Shaw described music as being “A window into higher brain Function”.

But what happens when our children end up with instruments as part of the program that they are not happy with and what can parents and educators do to a) avoid the problem in the first place and b) Make an acceptable outcome for everyone involved. One of my latest articles entitled Musical Instruments for Children addresses these very questions. The article created an enormous response from both parents of musical children and educators. Their comments and feedback are well worth a read and feel free to add your own experiences on this important topic. Have a read today!

At the Fun Music Company this month, we have been very busy launching two new websites which will make it much easier for you to gain access to motivating materials and save loads of time in lesson preparation. Instant Print Music Lessons is a comprehensive digital package of over 80 pages of worksheets, an exclusive e-book and flashcard sets to help inspire students and make learning music theory fun.
